Bruins Lose Game 7 to Panthers
Florida Stuns Boston in Overtime
Panthers Take Series Lead with 4-3 Victory
The Florida Panthers have stunned the Boston Bruins in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference Semifinal series, winning 4-3 in overtime. The Panthers, who were the Presidents Trophy winners during the regular season, had trailed the series 3-2 entering Game 7 but rallied to force overtime and eventually win the game on a goal by Carter Verhaeghe.
The Bruins, who had won the Presidents Trophy in 2019, were looking to reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the second time in three seasons. However, they were unable to overcome a strong performance by the Panthers, who were led by Verhaeghe's two goals and an assist. The Panthers also got goals from Matthew Tkachuk and Eetu Luostarinen.
The Bruins were led by David Pastrnak, who had a goal and an assist. Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron also scored for Boston.
The Panthers will now face the Colorado Avalanche in the Eastern Conference Finals, which begins on Wednesday night in Denver.
