Bruins Score Three in Second Period
The Boston Bruins took an early 1-0 lead in their NHL Stanley Cup Playoff series against the Florida Panthers after winning Game 1 on the road. The Bruins scored three times in the second period to take a 4-1 lead into the third, ultimately winning the game 5-2.
The Bruins' victory was led by center Charlie Coyle, who scored two goals, including the game-winner. David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand also scored for Boston, while Patrice Bergeron added an empty-net goal.
The Panthers were led by center Aleksander Barkov, who scored their only goal in the first period. Sam Reinhart added a power-play goal in the third period, but it was not enough to overcome the Bruins' lead.
Game 2 of the series will be played in Boston on Wednesday, May 3. The puck is set to drop at 7 pm ET and will be streamed live on ESPN.
