ADO Den Haag Announces New Head Coach: Dirk Kuyt

Darije Kalezic Replaced by Former Dutch International

ADO Den Haag, the Hague-based football club known for its passion and determination, has appointed Dirk Kuyt as its new head coach, effective Thursday.

Kuyt, a former Dutch international and Feyenoord legend, replaces Darije Kalezic, who has left the club after two seasons. Kalezic, who was appointed in 2020, led ADO Den Haag to a 10th-place finish in the Eredivisie last season and reached the semi-finals of the KNVB Cup.

Kuyt, 41, has a wealth of experience as both a player and a coach. As a player, he made over 500 appearances for Feyenoord, Liverpool, and Fenerbahçe, scoring over 200 goals. He also represented the Netherlands 104 times, scoring 24 goals. After retiring as a player in 2017, Kuyt began his coaching career as an assistant manager at his former club Feyenoord.

ADO Den Haag is confident that Kuyt can bring success to the club. The club's sporting director, Max Huiberts, said: "We are delighted to welcome Dirk Kuyt as our new head coach. He is a proven winner with a wealth of experience at the highest level. We believe that he is the right person to lead ADO Den Haag to the next level."
