September 11: The Day That Changed America
On the morning of September 11, 2001, 19 terrorists hijacked four airplanes in the United States. Two of the planes were crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City, killing nearly 4,000 innocent citizens. Another plane was crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., killing 189 more people. The fourth plane crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, killing all 44 passengers and crew members.

8:48 AM: United Airlines Flight 175 takes off from Boston's Logan International Airport. *
9:03 AM: American Airlines Flight 11 crashes into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. *
9:06 AM: United Airlines Flight 175 crashes into the South Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. *
9:37 AM: American Airlines Flight 77 crashes into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. *
